FairFare Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026
FairFare ("the App") helps you understand food value by analyzing photos of dishes, menus, and buffet plates. This policy explains what data the App processes and how it is handled.
What we collect and process
- Photos. When you analyze a photo, the image is sent to FairFare's own server, which forwards it to Google Gemini (and, as a fallback, Groq) to identify the food and estimate prices. The image is used for that analysis and is not shown to anyone else or sold.
- Text you enter. Optional notes, menu prices, store names, and answers to follow-up questions are included in the same request to improve accuracy.
- Saved recipes, meals, and receipts. Stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
- Sign in with Apple. Optional. If you sign in, Apple provides your name and a private identifier. This is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to FairFare.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. FairFare never receives or stores your payment details.
Third-party services
Photos and prompts are sent from FairFare's server to the AI providers below. You do not need an account with either, and FairFare does not share your identity with them:
- Google Gemini: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Groq: https://groq.com/privacy-policy
Data sharing and selling
FairFare does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers. Data is processed locally on your device and by the AI providers you configure.
Data retention and deletion
Saved recipes, logged meals, saved receipts, and your sign-in identifier live only on your device and are removed when you delete the app. Photos sent for analysis are not retained after the analysis completes.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
